This countryside engagement session captured everything I love about autumn sessions in Michigan—quiet backroads, warm colors, and a couple completely wrapped up in the excitement of the season they’re entering together.

There’s something special about photographing engagement sessions in the country. The pace feels slower, the light feels softer, and the surroundings naturally encourage couples to relax and be themselves. Instead of rushing between locations, we spent time wandering through open fields and tree-lined paths, letting the evening unfold naturally.

The soft golden tones of fall paired beautifully with the earthy landscape. Leaves were just beginning to turn, adding subtle touches of color that made the entire setting feel warm and inviting. As the sun began to set, the light filtered through the trees in the most beautiful way, creating that dreamy glow that makes fall engagement photos in Michigan so magical.
